Huntersville's North County Regional Library

Huntersville is fortunate to be home to North County Regional Library, part of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library system. It is a busy branch; of the system's 21 branches, North County Regional ranks second for book circulation.
But books are only part of what the library offers. From early childhood programs and homework assistance to career development, technology resources, and activities for older adults, North County Regional Library provides services and opportunities for residents at every stage of life.
To explore what the library offers and how it serves the Huntersville community, Huntersville Hub visited the branch, reviewed its programs and resources, and spoke with Branch Manager Rosalind Washington in October 2026. This guide draws on that interview, firsthand observations, and information published by Charlotte Mecklenburg Library.

A Place to Learn, Create, and Connect
North County Regional Library offers a variety of spaces for individual activities and community gatherings.
Inside, visitors will find comfortable seating areas, tables for reading and working, and dedicated spaces for different activities. The Teen Loft gives younger visitors an area of their own, while meeting rooms accommodate classes, group activities, and community gatherings.
These spaces support both independent activities and opportunities to connect with others. Residents can work quietly on individual projects, meet with study groups, or participate in activities with people who share their interests.
Together, these spaces and activities help make the library a place where residents of different ages and backgrounds can feel welcome and connected to their community.

Listening to the Community
North County Regional Library regularly adapts to meet the changing needs of the community. To accomplish this, the library actively seeks feedback from patrons and uses that information to shape its offerings.
Patron surveys help staff identify interests, evaluate existing programs, and consider new activities. Younger visitors also contribute through the Tween Advisory Council, where children ages 9–12 help develop programs, services, and activities for their peers.
These efforts reflect a broader goal: creating a place where residents feel welcome and have opportunities to participate, regardless of their age or background.
