Senior Discounts in Huntersville

Senior citizen discounts are easy to miss if you don’t know where to look. Some national chains offer discounts for seniors at some locations but not others, and most of the deals below aren’t prominently posted in the store. Employees usually won’t ask a customer’s age, so it’s up to you to ask for the senior deal.

We put this list together so you know where to go and what to ask for.

Starting ages for the deal range widely, so we grouped the list by age. Each section covers when the deal runs, what’s included, and what to bring, like an ID or a store rewards card.

We confirmed every deal in person at the Huntersville locations in October 2026. Deals can change, so ask before you pay.

Know of other places that give senior discounts? Let us know so we can add them.

‍Grocery Stores with Senior Discounts

Senior grocery discounts are available at some but not all grocery stores in Huntersville. Publix’s discount day is a different day from Harris Teeter’s, so if you miss one, the other is the next day.

Harris Teeter

Harris Teeter's senior discount day is Thursday, when shoppers 60 and older get a 5% discount. You'll need a VIC card, and the discount isn't applied automatically, so let your cashier know you qualify.

The 5% comes off after your coupons and VIC savings are taken. It doesn't apply to fuel, pharmacy purchases, tickets, or gift cards.

We've confirmed that the deal is good at Harris Teeter in Northcross Shopping Center, Regency Village, and Rosedale Shopping Center.

Publix

Publix's senior citizen discount day is Wednesday, when customers 60 and older get a 5% discount. Ask your cashier for the discount at checkout.

The 5% comes off after any coupons or Club Publix discounts. The Publix senior citizen discount doesn't apply to alcohol, tobacco, lottery, or gift cards.

We've confirmed that the deal is good at Publix in Market Square and North Creek Village.

Senior Discounts at Restaurants

Restaurant senior discounts often vary by location, so we list the ones we’ve confirmed at Huntersville restaurants.

Chili’s Grill & Bar

‍Chili's Grill & Bar offers a 10% discount every day for guests 55 and older. It applies to orders placed in person at the restaurant, whether you dine in or order takeout at the counter, so ask for it when you order.

‍

Stores with Senior Discounts

These senior shopping discounts cover everything from secondhand finds to craft supplies.

Goodwill

Every Tuesday, Goodwill gives shoppers 55 and older a 25% discount on donated items, all day. Bring a valid ID to show the cashier.

Michaels

The senior discount at Michaels gives shoppers 55 and older 10% off their entire purchase every day, including sale items, both in the store and online. Before you can get this deal, you’ll need to register for the discount through your Michaels Rewards account, and bring a valid ID unless you've completed the age verification there.

Clearance items aren't included, and other exclusions apply, so ask a team member for details.

Oil Change Discounts for Seniors

An oil change is easy to plan ahead, so it’s worth timing your next one around the discount day.

Grease Monkey

On Tuesdays, Grease Monkey takes $10 off a full service oil change for customers 50 and older. The shop calls it Tuesday Seniors’ Day. Ask for the discount when you pull in. It isn’t valid with any other offer.

The Huntersville Grease Monkey is a locally owned and operated franchise.

‍

Fitness Senior Discounts

Not every gym plans for older members, so a senior membership is one useful sign that a place is thinking about them.

Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics

Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics offers senior memberships for members 62 and older, with Senior Individual and Senior Couple plans. Like every HFFA membership, they include the fitness center, all group exercise classes, and the swimming pools, including a warm water pool used for aquatic exercise classes.

HFFA also participates in the Renew Active and Silver & Fit insurance programs, which require pre-verification. If your health plan includes one of them, ask the Guest Relations Team how it applies.

‍

Entertainment Senior Discounts

Many entertainment venues price tickets by age, so look for a senior option before you pay full price.

Regal Cinemas

Regal Cinemas offers senior ticket pricing every day for moviegoers 60 and older. When you buy tickets online, choose Senior from the ticket types. Seats are reserved when you buy, so you can pick your seat ahead of time, and the seat map marks the wheelchair spaces.

Regal also has closed caption glasses that show the dialogue while you watch, and audio description headsets that describe what’s happening on screen. Ask a team member about them before your movie starts.
