Eagle Extravaganza
Wildlife Experience | Carolina Raptor Center | Tickets required; free for active military and veterans
There's something fitting about spending part of the holiday weekend with our national bird. Carolina Raptor Center's Eagle Extravaganza puts the Bald Eagle front and center, with eagle feedings, a Bird Show, and Keeper Chats that cover how Bald Eagles went from near-extinction to one of conservation's great success stories. Interactive stations and water play are scattered throughout the trail for kids. All programs are included with general admission. If you want to kick things off early, Breakfast with the Birds starts at 8:30am and requires advance tickets ($35 adults / $25 children).

NorthStone Fireworks
Fireworks | NorthStone Country Club | Visible from surrounding neighborhood; club event is private
NorthStone Country Club hosts a fireworks show on the evening of July 3rd that's visible from much of the area surrounding the NorthStone neighborhood. The club holds a (paid & ticketed) event for club members and NorthStone residents around the Club House, but you can see the fireworks from elsewhere as well. Within the neighborhood, Bramborough Road along the golf course draws a big crowd but there are other good viewing spots as well. Bring a chair or blanket.

All other regulations still apply, including size limits and catch limits. If you've been looking for a reason to get out on the water, this is it. Not sure where to go?
